Christmas etc. 2022

Here are some highlights from Thanksgiving, Christmas and beyond...

Tommy turned 5 (almost 5 months ago!)

So my baby turned 5 and started preschool in Allen and I started my second year of teaching and then life kept going and here I am in January realizing I never did his birthday post...🙈.  Better late than never!  He had a Bluey themed party and wanted a scooter.  So I did a cake with Bluey and Bingo on scooters and he got his scooter and a helmet too.  He also got a Bluey outfit and other than that I cannot remember what we got him!  I know he got a cool dinosaur train set from the Herrick's and oh yeah we got him the Bluey camper and then of course grandma Carolyn gave him his amazing 5-year-old quilt that is just amazing...our last one!  His birthday was on a Wednesday so he brought treats to school and to Brooke's house and then we had all the grandparents and Hendrixes over for a quick party with supper and cake.  He had a great time and is getting so big.  I routinely tell him he is humongous because I truly cannot believe how big he is.  I can barely carry him up the stairs.  Today (January 18) we had a snow day and as we slept in I marveled at how quiet is in the morning.  No more toddlers running in the room or babies to snuggle in the bed or little feet pitter pattering around.  Although that is not to say that it is quiet all day long (quite the contrary!).  Big kids make BIG noise!  Plus the 7 year old did feel the need to wake me up to ask for breakfast 😏.  Anyway here we are with all odds: 13, 11, 9, 7, and 5...for a couple more weeks until we start turning even again.  Time feels like sand slipping through my hands and it always runs and I can never catch it all.  I understand the hour glass symbol on Days of Our Lives so much better now..."as sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives" 💙  Love you Tommy Boy!!!
