Luke is 6!

The 2 February boys had their birthdays!!!  Luke was all about the LONG semi this year so that's just what he got.  Plus a taller basketball hoop which has gotten tons of use and been the source of countless arguments...😒.  But Luke has really gotten into practicing his basketball and seems to love it. He is much more competitive than I thought he would be!  We celebrated on the Thursday night with grandma and grandpa Koester.  Then on Saturday Taylor and Skyler got to spend the day with us while they went to Ashtyn's games in Lincoln.  Alissa made his cool semi shirt, grandpa and grandma got him a razor scooter, and he used birthday money at the book fair and to get a loader tractor Lego and a stuffed Grogu (The Child) at the Mall of America.

Luke you are such a dear.  You are sweet and sensitive and also a go-getter.  You love doing your chores outside and taking care of the animals and know what's going on on the farm.  You love to play with your farm sets and all your tractors on your farm in the attic.  You love playing Nintendo and keeping up with your big brothers and sisters (just like you always have!).  You are doing so well in Kindergarten and have learned so much.  You like practicing your math and writing your letters.  You don't seem to have a lack of confidence in yourself and I love that!  I love your big brown eyes and your sweet smiling face.  We love you Luke Kirby!

Mikey turns 8!

Mikey's birthday came and went but it was a good one!  He wanted a Minecraft party (although he had never played yet 😂).  So I put a creeper on the cake without even knowing what it was (I'm still pretty fuzzy on the details, but the kids have sure picked up a whole new vernacular!).  He also received a mini Millennium Falcon Lego, a Buff from Herrick's, Minecraft of course, a basketball from us, a KC Chiefs hat from Pick's, and some birthday money from both grandparents that he used on our trip the next weekend to Mall of America where he bought a Minecraft Lego and a sequined snake at the Rainforest Cafe (we had a great trip by the way, maybe I'll post about that too...).  His birthday happened to be on a Friday so he got to have Michael over to spend the night (first sleep over!!!).  We had pizza and played some Minecraft (all the kids love it now!) and started watching The Mandalorian on Disney+ which has also become a family favorite.  Thanks for introducing us to things we love for your birthday Mikey!!!

Mikey you continue to bring so much joy to our family!  You love ALL. THE. ANIMALS. and even love your chores to take care of them.  Right now you are super into taking care of the new baby chicks.  You are usually the first to go outside and last to come in.  You have become a really good helper.  You also love your technology and seem pretty interested in that.  You know how to run the TV/receiver/Nintendo/DVD player better than anyone else.  You love your games and shows.  You still get really excited telling us stories about your day.  I have had the opportunity to teach you a little at school and I know that you are a good student and a good friend.  You are starting to work on your basketball skills and are going to play baseball for the first time this spring.  You also love Lego of course and shooting your bebe gun.  You are outgoing, fun-loving, and a caring kid.  We love you so much Michael Johnnie!
